2 adults, 3 youths charged in Halifax assault last summer

Five people have been charged in an assault that happened last summer in downtown Halifax.

Five people have now been charged in an assault that happened last summer in downtown Halifax. 

Two women, 21 and 23, were assaulted on June 23, 2024, at around 1:50 a.m. by a group of people not known to them, Halifax Regional Police said Friday in a news release.

A 19-year-old man charged with assault causing bodily harm made an appearance in Halifax provincial court in January, the release said. 

Another man, 18, has also been charged with assault causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date.

Two 18-year-olds who were youths at the time of the alleged offence have been charged with assault causing bodily harm and a 17-year-old has been charged with two counts of assault. All three will appear in Nova Scotia youth court in Halifax at a later date.
