2 pedestrians struck in downtown Whitehorse intersection
Police say a pickup truck hit a 73-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman at low speed Wednesday while making a left turn in a downtown intersection.
Whitehorse RCMP say two pedestrians were hit and injured by a pickup truck late Wednesday afternoon in a downtown intersection.
The police say a 73-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman were walking south across Second Avenue at the intersection with Main Street at about 5:50 p.m. when they were struck.
RCMP say the driver of the pickup was turning onto Second Avenue from Main Street when his vehicle hit the pedestrians at low speed.
Both were taken to Whitehorse General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were treated and released.
They say alcohol was not a factor in the incident and the investigation continues.
