It's a staple of every holiday season, and on Wednesday, the Salvation Army began another year of helping the less fortunate.
"The purpose of the Christmas Kettle campaign is to raise funds to help us serve the families who will come to the Salvation Army looking for assistance over the Christmas holidays," said Salvation Army Maj. John Goulding
The campaign first began over 106 years ago in Newfoundland and Labrador.
This year, they're hoping to raise over $650,000 in the province.
