The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has charged one of its own with making indecent phone calls, and mischief.

The force says a complaint was first received on Oct. 7, 2012.

During the investigation it was determined the calls were allegedly made by Const. Sean Kelly, at which time he was placed on administrative or office duty.

Police continued to investigate the matter both criminally, and internally by the RNC's Professional Standards Division.

That led to Kelly being charged Wednesday with making indecent phone calls, and mischief.

He was charged and released to appear in court at a later date.

Kelly has also been suspended without pay, pending the outcome of the matter in court.
