Get reading — and chatting — with the CBC NL Virtual Book Club
Join us on March 22 for our debut chat
Are you looking to read more content from Newfoundland and Labrador's authors? So are we.
We're launching the CBC NL Virtual Book Club, an online space where you can interact with fellow readers and book lovers from the comfort of your own home.
But it's not just a book club; we'll also be featuring content from the province's literary talents, publishers, poets and more.
What are your essential book selections written by N.L. authors you think we should read? Maybe it's a book you've been meaning to check out for a while, or maybe it's a book you wouldn't mind revisiting for a second read.
Email us, and your suggestion may be our next book club selection.
First selection
The first book we'll be reading is Kit's Law, by Donna Morrissey.
Kit's Law follows the story of 14-year-old Kit Pitman, her mentally handicapped mother Josie and grandmother Lizzie, as the three women live a life of some hardship — but much love — in outport Newfoundland.
Head down to your local bookseller, public library or e-library, or check online to grab a copy of Kit's Law and read along.
We'll host our first live chat to discuss the book on March 22 at 7 p.m. NT, so get ready to share your thoughts. On April 5, we'll meet online again to wrap up our thoughts on the novel.
Plus, stay tuned because in April we'll talk with author Donna Morrissey about her book.
And keep checking back for more books and chats on the horizon!
