Lorraine Michael open to Kirby, Mitchelmore caucus return

Provincial NDP Leader Lorraine Michael said during this week's On Point with David Cochrane that she would be open to MHAs Dale Kirby and Christopher Mitchelmore returning to her caucus, but only after some serious discussions.
Mitchelmore and Kirby left the NDP caucus earlier this year among some controversy over a letter sent to Michael calling for a leadership review.
Michael said the two could return to caucus if all sides could agree to settle their differences.
"I think what I would say is, 'Well, let's sit and talk about it and what are the rules of the game?'" she said. "I mean, we would have to negotiate that."
According to Michael, it would need to be an open conversation about the issues both sides feel passionately about.
"I would know what some conditions are that I would want to set down, and are you willing to meet those conditions? I mean, you just don't say yes or no, it would have to be something that — we'd have to do the talking that didn't happen," Michael said.
In the most recent poll from the Corporate Research Associated, the NDP took a significant nosedive in approval ratings since the issue began.
