Guilty plea from retired priest on new sex charge
A retired Roman Catholic priest has pleaded guilty to the latest sexual abuse charge brought against him.
A retired Roman Catholic priest who has already admitted to dozens of sexual abuse charges involving young people has pleaded guilty to the latest count against him.
George Smith's case was called in Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador in Corner Brook on Monday.
His lawyer entered the plea on his behalf.
The latest charge comes from a complainant in Moncton.
Smith has been in custody for about a year, and is expected to be sentenced later this month on 40 charges related to the abuse of young people from the 1960s through the 1980s.
