Accused murderer Kenny Green granted bail

Kenny Green, 35, who is accused in the second-degree murder of Joey Whalen, was granted bail on Friday.

Accused murderer Kenny Green has been granted bail.

Green, 35, is alleged to have beaten Joey Whalen in March 2013, in what neighbours described as a drug house on Tessier Place, in downtown St. John's.

In court on Friday, Green was released on $55,000 bail, with conditions.

Green has been ordered to sign in with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary seven days a week.

He must live with his mother, has a curfew, and must stay within 100 kilometres of St. John's.

On Monday, Green pleaded not guilty to the beating death of Whalen, 47. 

Green is scheduled back in court in March.
