Man charged with 2nd-degree murder after woman found dead in Châteauguay, Que.
Marcellin Koman Mbo, 49, charged Thursday with murder of Simone Mahan, 45

A 49-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 45-year-old woman on Montreal's South Shore.
Marcellin Koman Mbo was formally charged in court Thursday. He and the victim, Simone Mahan, were romantically involved. According to Radio-Canada sources, the woman was a mother of three.
Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, local police were called to a home on Jules-Dumouchel Street in Châteauguay, Que., located southwest of Montreal.
At the scene, officers found Mahan unresponsive, according to a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). Police later confirmed her death, at first calling it suspicious.

They confirmed on Thursday that they are treating it as a homicide.
Police said a person of interest was intercepted in Saint-Stanislas, Que., about 230 kilometres northeast of Châteauguay, on Wednesday. Investigators met with the man and arrested him.
