69-year-old woman dies after being hit by bus in Montréal-Nord

A 69-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a city bus near the corner of Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and Lacordaire Street in Montréal-Nord.

A 69-year-old woman has died after being hit by a city bus in Montréal-Nord.

The incident took place Tuesday afternoon as the woman was crossing the street at the corner of Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and Lacordaire Street. 

Montreal police's preliminary information suggests the woman was crossing at the intersection as the traffic lights were changing.

After she was hit, the woman was trapped underneath the bus. She was eventually freed and rushed to hospital where she was later declared dead.

The investigation is ongoing and the bus driver with the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) as well as passengers were questioned by police.
