Pedestrian killed in collision in Westwood, Winnipeg police say

A man is dead following a collision involving a pedestrian in the Westwood neighbourhood. The man was hit at the intersection of Westwood Drive and Byrd Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a police news release said on Thursday.

A man is dead following a collision involving a pedestrian in the Westwood neighbourhood of Winnipeg.

The man was hit at the intersection of Westwood Drive and Byrd Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a police news release said on Thursday.

The 84-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition but later died, police said.

The 86-year-old man whose vehicle hit the victim stayed at the scene and co-operated with police.

No charges have been laid and the investigation continues.
