What's open, closed and where to see fireworks in London this long weekend
Government offices, banks and more places will be closed during the Victoria Day long weekend.
Get your shopping done before Monday when most retailers are closed

It's the long weekend in Canada, meaning many people will have the day off and might be celebrating Victoria Day with friends and family.
There will be various activities and events taking place in the city over the weekend, with some closures on Monday, May 19. Here's a look at what you need to know.
Public transportation
- London Transit will operate on a holiday service schedule, this means fewer buses on the road compared to regular weekdays.
- Riders are encouraged to visit the London Transit website for up-to-date route times and schedules.
Government services
- All banks and city administrative offices are closed on Monday, including City hall, Citi Plaza, all Ontario Works offices and Provincial Offences Administrative Office.
- The London Collision Reporting Centre will be closed on Monday, regular hours will resume the following day.
- There's no garbage, recycling or green bin collection on Monday. Collection shifts forward by one day.
- EnviroDepots are open as scheduled.
Restaurants and shopping
- White Oaks Mall, CF Masonville Place, and Westmount Shopping Centre will close Monday.
- Most grocery stores are closed Monday.
- Beer Store outlets will be open Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., including 1600 Dundas St. E., 414 Wharncliffe Rd. S. (drive-thru only), and 1080 Adelaide St. N.
Spray pads and other activities

- All city spray pads are open for the season, operating from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Storybook Gardens is open all weekend, including Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Recreational activities like swimming, crafts, badminton, public skating, family open gym and science workshops will be available for residents.
Fireworks! Where to see them
- On Saturday, head to Nicholas Wilson Park. Food trucks arrive at 5:30 with fireworks starting at dusk.
- Your own backyard. It's one of the few days of the year when it's allowed to set them off

- Londoners will be allowed to discharge backyard fireworks, only on Monday 19 between sundown and 11 p.m.
- Fireworks are not permitted to be discharged in public spaces such as city parks or on the street.
