Teenage girl arrested after stabbing at downtown London high school
The female victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said
A 15-year-old girl was arrested after a stabbing at H.B. Beal Secondary School in downtown London, Ont., Monday, that left another female, 19, in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, London police said.
"At approximately 11:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a stabbing at a school in the 500-block of Dundas Street," police said in a release.
Some students told CBC News they heard screams in the school's cafeteria and saw that someone had been stabbed. They said they've been told to stay out of the cafeteria.
Police say the accused and the victim knew each other. The accused, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon. She is expected to appear in court on Jan. 9.
This is the second stabbing in two months at a London high school.
In September, a 16-year-old was charged with stabbing two other teens at A.B. Lucas Secondary School during the lunch hour.
