Police reviewing 'hundreds of hours' of security footage in hopes of finding missing Hamilton woman
Homicide unit began investigating Shalini Singh's disappearance last month
Over a month after she disappeared, Shalini Singh remains missing and homicide detectives continue to investigate.
Police seized hundreds of hours of CCTV footage from around her apartment building since her family reported her missing on Dec. 10 and continue to review footage to try to piece together what occurred, police told CBC Hamilton this week.
Acting Det. Sgt. Daryl Reid also said in an email Singh's common-law boyfriend is not cooperating with police.
He has "provided no information that could assist in locating Shalini," Reid said.
The last confirmed contact anyone had with Singh, 40, was at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2024, police said in a news release last month.
The homicide unit was assigned to the case when police learned information that "caused growing concern," they said.
It's "highly unusual" for Singh to have no contact with her family even for a few days, police said.
"The Singh family is deeply concerned for her well-being," said police.
Singh is described as five feet four inches tall and 120 pounds. She has brown eyes and shoulder-length black hair.
Investigators continue to appeal to the public to come forward with any information about Singh's whereabouts to police or Crime Stoppers.
