A 25-year-old is dead, police say, following a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Saturday.

The man was riding south on Upper James Street around noon when his Kawasaki crashed into a Cadillac Escalade that had started to turn left onto Fennell Avenue, according to investigators.

The motorcyclist was transported to hospital where police say he later died of his injuries.

Police say the man's death is the sixth driving fatality in Hamilton so far this year.

The 50-year-old behind the wheel of the SUV was not injured.
