Snowfall warning, treacherous roads as winter roars back in northeast B.C.
Dawson Creek activates warming centre as temperatures remain below freezing

After several days of warming weather, winter is roaring back in northeastern B.C., bringing a snowfall warning and treacherous driving conditions.
Heavy snow mixed with rain has been falling in Prince George, and a snowfall warning has been issued for the south Peace region, with up to 10 centimetres of snow expected overnight.
Environment Canada says a low-pressure system moving across the B.C. Interior is responsible for the conditions, which can cause low visibility and difficult driving conditions.
Winter tires are still required on highway routes throughout the B.C. north and Interior until March 31.
City warns residents not to be fooled by false spring
In Dawson Creek, a warming centre was activated Wednesday in response to the snowfall warning and will continue to offer 24/7 services until March 15.
In Prince George, the city has been using humour to remind residents of the rules and the existence of "spr-inter," or winter dressed up as spring, when weather can rapidly switch between spring melt and winter snowfall conditions.
At the beginning of March, it issued a reminder on social media pages not to use hoses or sprinklers to melt snow, as it can freeze and clog catch basins, as well as "tempt Mother Nature into giving us another dump of snow."
Earlier today, the city posted a photo of the snow outside city hall with a caption reading, "Alright, who took their winter tires off?"
