Fir real? Watch a 26-year-old John Candy interview a 'Christmas tree' in 1976
In the words of the Christmas tree: 'I am what I art!'
41 years ago, a 26-year-old John Candy interviewed a performance artist dressed as a Christmas tree on CBC's late-night talk show 90 Minutes Live. The show, which was hosted by Peter Gzowski, tapped the young comic to bring his signature sweet and silly holiday cheer to hosting a present wrapping competition in Burnaby, BC., and interviewing performance artist Pat Oleszko, all while dressed in a classy 3-piece suit.
So while you're cozying up to your favourite holiday songs, films and foods, enjoy this short clip of holiday nostalgia from the CBC archives.
