As the fires rage in and around Los Angeles, so much of the attention is focused on the celebrities who've been displaced and lost their homes. Some are amplifying fundraising efforts, but they're also creating perceptions that this tragedy has disproportionately affected the rich and famous. 

Today on Commotion, Elamin Abdelmahmoud speaks with Kathryn Borel, a Canadian screenwriter based in L.A., to get a reality check on the average Angeleno's experience of the tragedy.
