Russia adds another synchro gold, tally now up to 6

Russia continued to be untouchable when it comes to synchronized swimming, winning another gold medal at the aquatics world championships from Budapest, Hungary.

Russian has topped podium in 6 of 7 synchronized swimming events

Russia continued to be untouchable when it comes to synchronized swimming, winning another gold medal at the aquatics world championships from Budapest, Hungary.

The medal gives them six titles out of seven events so far in synchronized swimming, with Italy being the only ohter country to top the podium.

Vlada Chigireva, Maria Shurochkina, Veronika Kalinina, Maryna Goliadkina, Daria Bayandina, Anastasia Bayandina, Darina Valitova and Polina Komar were awarded a huge 97.3000 points for another almost perfect routine.

"The world championships provide us a great opportunity to be together and unite," said Shurochkina, who, along with Chigireva, claimed her third consecutive world title in the event.

China was second, and Ukraine third.

The Canadians finished with 88.8000 points on Friday in Budapest, Hungary.

The preliminary round for the mixed duet free also went on Friday, with Russia currently atop those standings as well. The Canadian duo of Rene Robert Prevost and Isabelle Rampling were in 6th.
