Stamps bet Rambo ready to bounce back

Receiver Ken-Yon Rambo, who missed almost all but three games last season with a knee injury, has signed an extension with the Calgary Stampeders, the team anounced Friday.

Receiver Ken-Yon Rambo has signed an extension with the Calgary Stampeders, head coach and GM Jim Hufnagel anounced Friday.

Terms weren't released.

Rambo caught 17 passes for 179 yards in three games in 2009 before suffering a season-ending knee injury at B.C. on July 24.

The 31-year-old Californian led the CFL with 1,473 receiving yards in 2008, when he made a career-best 100 catches.

"We were all disappointed for Ken-Yon when he suffered his knee injury early in 2009, but he has worked very hard to get back in shape," said Calgary GM and head coach John  Hufnagel.

"He has been a highly productive receiver and he's determined to be back on top in 2010. We look forward to seeing him back on the football field."

Rambo said he "can't wait" for the 2010 season to begin.

"I'll be back with a vengeance."
