Blue Jays, the Taylor Swift curse and #OpenTheDome

After the dust settled and it was confirmed that the Blue Jays would be back playing post-season baseball in Toronto, citizens of The Six took up a new and noble cause: #OpenTheDome.

Also, is the 'Taylor Swift curse' over?

Blue Jays fans start a petition to #OpenTheDome for Game 5, and hope that the Taylor Swift curse is over.

After the dust settled and it was confirmed that the Blue Jays would be back playing post-season baseball against the Texas Rangers in Toronto, citizens of The Six took up a new and noble cause. And by cause we mean hashtag: #OpenTheDome.

MLB ground rules are clear about when the retractable roof at Rogers Centre will be open, but Blue Jays fans are not backing down.

Blue Jays clicktivists did what any good tweeter would do, and took to the petition website Change.org to send a letter to MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred.

The petition had almost at 18,000 signatures at the time of publishing.

Intrepid as ever, we decided to go to the source and find out for ourselves if #OpenTheDome has a chance of convincing MLB to shine some natural light on Game 5.

And the response?

Well, there you have it folks. #OpenTheDome is futile.

Let's look on the bright side, though. Taylor Swift only played two shows in Toronto, therefore, Games 1 and 2 were penance for the Taylor Swift Curse ...right? Right?

Game 5 is Wednesday at 4:07 p.m. ET. Will you be watching?
