Matthew Chaffey is the lead singer of Ottawa soul band, The Split. He recently read Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout: The Making of a Sensible Environmentalist by Patrick Moore.

"It's about his life in Greenpeace and how he became disillusioned with some of their ideals and changed his thinking to a little bit more of a science-based approach. It's about his experiences with Greenpeace and his ideas and solutions for some of the environmental problems we have today.  A big chunk of the book is dedicated to breaking down specific issues in regards to the environment, [such as] nuclear power, genetically modified organisms, sustainable living. You name it, it runs the gamut. I can't even remember how this book fell into my lap, but I couldn't put it down once I started reading it."

Matthew Chaffey's comments have been edited and condensed.
