'I'm not an ordinary person': Nick Cave on 20,000 Days On Earth
Australian rock legend, author and actor Nick Cave stars in a new fact-meets-fiction film.
Australian rock legend, author and actor Nick Cave joins Jian to discuss 20,000 Days On Earth, an award-winning film that follows him for a fictionalized 24 hours on his 20,000th day of being alive.
The film, which features music from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' Push The Sky Away, compellingly treads the line between documentary and drama. Along with visual artists Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, Cave explores themes of self-representation, memory and the mythology that exists around performers.
"The mask calcifies on the face in some way, and you become that thing," he tells Jian.
