Hamilton electro-pop and R&B singer Jessy Lanza performs from Pull My Hair Back -- a debut record turning heads with its combination of sensual vocals and warm electronic sounds.

The musician also speaks with guest host Terry O'Reilly about how she developed her sound, how she wants the world to see her blue collar hometown, and why she left the musicology program at McGill to return to "the Hammer" and go at it alone.

"I was doing a lot of reading and writing and not a lot of creating," she told Terry. "I try as hard as I can to forget all that stuff from school and just have fun when I'm doing music."

Dancing to the beat of your own Hammer

As mentioned in the interview, Lanza's first single, Kathy Lee, features Hamilton and local legend "Jed the dancing guy" very prominently. See it for yourself below.
