Schedule for Friday Jan. 10
More on the show.
Please note: Jian is off until January 13 and Terry O'Reilly will be filling in for the week of January 6. Here's what we have on tap for you today:
- Following Thursday's surprise ban of a controversial comedy show starring Dieudonné M'Bala M'Bala, AFP reporter Angus MacKinnon updates Terry on the tug of war the comic sparked with his anti-Semitic jokes. As the comic continues to ignore fines that have piled up for inciting racial hatred, MacKinnon speaks to the larger debate over free speech, public safety and French values.
- In cold and flu season -- and beyond -- should we adopt the fistbump over the handshake, as a more hygenic approach to greeting one another? A Q debate!
- Jian talks to Golden Globe-nominated Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg, director of The Hunt, up for Best Foreign Language Film.
- Hamilton R&B/electro-pop singer Jessy Lanza performs from her debut album, Pull My Hair Back.
