Kevin Loring has been announced as the first artistic director of the new Indigenous theatre department at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Loring is known as a Nlaka'pamux actor and playwright from the Lytton First Nation in British Columbia.

Loring will assume his new post on Oct. 16, but before this happens he speaks with q host Tom Power about Indigenous involvement in theatre and his hopes to nurture and develop Indigenous designers, stagehands and stage managers.
