Oil and gas drillers see growth in 2025, but fears linger over an emissions cap and U.S. tariffs
The Canadian Association of Energy Contractors predicts the highest level of drilling activity since 2015. Total jobs next year are expected to reach 41,800, about 2,720 more than 2024. But the industry is worried the federal government’s emissions cap and Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs will reduce production and eliminate jobs.
