Government’s new plan for cellphones in schools is getting a passing grade from N.L. teachers’ union
The provincial government is proposing no phones at school for Grades K-6 and older grades can bring a phone but it has to be turned off and be stored out of sight. Trent Langdon, president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association, says the real test for the proposed rules will be the enforcement and support from the Department of Education. The CBC’s Arlette Lazarenko reports.
