This Remembrance Day, Toronto is honouring the No. 2 Construction Battalion, Canada’s only all-Black unit in the First World War. It worked in logging operations, built roads and maintained the infrastructure of Canadians bases in Europe. Anthony Sherwood, whose great uncle was the chaplain of the No. 2 Construction Battalion, discusses the significance of the unit in Canadian military history.
