Chiefs vote against 47.8B child welfare deal

First Nations chiefs from across Canada say they won't fully accept a $47.8B settlement agreement on long-term reform of First Nations child and family services. There were 267 votes against the resolution and 147 in favour, with one abstention at the gathering in Calgary, following two days of contentious debates.
