Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 with 298 people on board was shot down near the border of Ukraine and Russian on July 15, 2014, according to reports. The U.S. presented what it called "powerful" evidence that the rebels shot down the Boeing 777 with a Russian surface-to-air missile.
