Palestinian stabs Israeli before being fatally shot
The Israeli military says a Palestinian stabbed an Israeli in the West Bank before being shot and killed.
According to the military, the Israeli was stabbed in the neck Monday and "severely wounded" at an intersection near the city of Hebron.
Police spokeswoman Luba Samri says initial reports indicated the Israeli was a soldier, but the military declined to say whether the person who was stabbed was a soldier.
It was the latest incident in weeks of almost daily Palestinian attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces.
In the past five weeks, 10 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, mostly stabbings, while 51 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, including 30 said by Israel to be attackers and the rest in clashes.
Israeli police said a stabbing later in the day in Jaffa, a largely Arab area of Tel Aviv, was unrelated to the recent wave of Israeli-Palestinian violence. Samri said the stabbing was of a "criminal" nature.
