After years of strong growth, China's economy is showing signs of slowing, because of several factors, including the eurozone debt crisis, weakening domestic demand and a slow economic recovery in the United States.
In the first quarter, China's economic growth was at a nearly three-year low of 8.1 per cent.
For the mostly export-based economy, it means Chinese businesses are feeling the pinch.
CBC's Catherine Mercier travelled to one of China's manufacturing centres, Wenzhou, to see the impact of the downturn.
