A New York magazine publisher who told his Twitter followers he would "throw my cellphone in some teriyaki stir fry and eat it" if the Raptors won two games made good on the first part of the bet, at least.

Kazeem Famuyide made the initial statement shortly after Toronto's NBA team beat the Miami Heat in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference series, sending the Raptors to the third round against the favoured Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavs easily won the first two games of the series at home, but Toronto won Game 3, Cleveland's first loss of the playoffs, and setting up Monday night's game.

Cleveland rebounded to erase an 18-point Raptors lead, but Toronto held on to win its second game of the series, thanks in part to the defensive play of their Congolese big man

As the result of the game became clear, Famuyide began the preparations to fry up his phone, amid razzing from his Twitter followers.

But Famuyide soon realized he had a problem. His phone was the only camera he had on him.

So, with the phone in the pan, he turned the camera back on himself.

RIP, Kaz's phone.
