While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Barack Obama made a grand speech about reciprocity between nations, Trudeau's kids goofed around on the White House lawn Thursday morning.

Trudeau has three children with wife Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau — Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien — all of whom were seen playing off to the side, under the eye of their caretaker.

Hadrien got particular attention as he briefly escaped his handlers, running down the north White House lawn

The youngest of the Trudeau's immediate family, Hadrien continued to get attention within the Oval Office

Even Michelle Obama appeared enamoured with Trudeau's children and, once again, with Hadrien in particular

There seems to be some demand to see more of the Trudeau children

Trudeau himself was a visitor to the White House as a child. His father, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, visited then president Jimmy Carter in 1977.

In 1972, upon visiting Trudeau's father, Richard Nixon predicted that Trudeau would eventually become prime minister, saying "I'd like to toast the future prime minister of Canada: to Justin Pierre Trudeau."

Trudeau had been born on Christmas the previous year.
