Edmonton police Const. Daniel Woodall was shot and killed while serving an arrest warrant Monday evening.
Canadians paying tribute to his sacrifice have since made #EPSstrong the top trending topic on Twitter.

—@ErinDiLoretoJust as people did following the shooting of RCMP officers in Moncton last year, Edmontonians left their porch lights on for police.
The gesture began last June with a request by RCMP in Moncton for people in the city to leave their porch lights on at night to aid them in the search for a suspect in the shooting deaths of three Mounties.
