Man's best friend braves frigid waters at Ohio's Buck Creek State Park to help firefighters rescue his stranded owner

Talk about man's best friend.

A hunter, who remains unidentified, was checking up on his duck blind in Ohio's Buck Creek State Park Saturday when he became stuck waist-deep in mud, according to WTDN. Luckily, he had brought along his cellphone, and his dog.

After becoming stuck, the man used his phone to call the authorities for help. But, according to Springfield News Sun, the water was too shallow for rescue crews.

That's when rescuers sent the man's dog out into the water to bring him a rope. A rescue worker then crawled out to retrieve him.

And with the water temperature at just above freezing, the rescue couldn't have come sooner.

Thanks to his dog, the man is going to be OK.
