A trailer for director Zack Snyder's highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was officially released on Friday, one day after it leaked online.
The trailer begins with a flurry of voices, seemingly news commentators, while the camera zooms in on a darkened statue, set against a brooding cityscape.
One voice wonders aloud, "Is it really surprising that the most powerful man in the world should be a figure of controversy?"
The statue is revealed to be of Superman, and vandalized. "False god" is spray-painted across his chest.
The trailer also features Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne and his crime-fighting alter ego, seen staring down Henry Cavill's Man of Steel.
"Do you bleed?" he asks Superman. "You will."
Snyder released the trailer on Twitter with the hashtags #NotBlurry and #NotPirated, a nod to the version that was leaked on Thursday.
The film will be released on March 25, 2016, and also stars Amy Adams reprising her role as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
