An Australian comedian is re-enacting celebrity Instagram snaps to show just how ridiculous some of their poses can be.

Celeste Barber has been posting snaps of celebrities side-by-side with her re-enactments to social media. She shares her creations using the hashtag #CelesteChallengeAccepted.

She re-created Gisele Bundchen's picture of the supermodel breastfeeding while she had her hair and makeup done.

She tackled an inspirational fitness photo from tennis star Serena Williams.

Another re-enactment poked fun at singer Nicki Minaj.

She's even taken on Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, poking fun of a photo of the singer seductively touching a knife blade to his mouth.

Of course, Kim Kardashian, who has published a book of her selfies, has been a frequent target of Barber's re-enactments.

She put up side-by-side photos of herself and Kardashian both looking tired in their pyjamas.

Another picture recreates Kardashian's "hot hairdresser selfie."

Barber's project also includes stock photos, showing that they don't quite always illustrate real life.

Barber has tweeted that the project is not meant to be mean spirited, but rather "it's just fun."

So far, reception seems to be mostly positive with her followers enjoying the sendups of celebrity life.

Some even seem to want to try their hand at re-enactments.
