Smart cities: better for life or too much information sharing?
Smart city innovation is the newest wave of technological advancement — the concept uses sensors to improve day-to-day life, but will it share too much information? The city of San Diego announced last year it would deploy over 3,000 smart sensors on its street lights. The sensors will save the city a lot of money in energy costs and will allow the city to test new innovations to help planners understand the community and design a better place to live. However many people are wary of just how much information is collected and how that information is used.
