Yangyang, the robot, interacted with visitors to the Global Mobile Internet Conference. She shook hands with the public, hugged a woman, and moved her mouth and arms while speaking.
A man at a computer controlled Yangyang from behind-the-scenes. She mimicked his movements.
China's Shanghai Yangyang Intellegent Robot Science Service centre and Japanese professor Hiroshi Ishiguro created Yangyang. They hope Yangyang will help popularize robotics among young people.
