The Supreme Court of Canada has issued five rulings on copyright cases involving royalties on music downloaded and streamed over the internet and downloaded in video games, and on use of copyrighted educational material.

The court ruled against a royalty on the downloading of music and video games containing music and on online previews of songs, but upheld a royalty on streaming of music over the internet. It also clarified use of copyrighted educational materials.
