Canada's provincial and territorial leaders are in Yukon for three days of talks on a wide range of issues including the federal government's intention to impose a national price on carbon and interprovincial trade barriers.

But the discussions might be coloured by a recent squabble between Alberta Premier Rachel Notley and Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall over the price of beer. Notley will hike beer prices, a move Wall says will hurt his province's producers and has threatened retaliation.

Yukon Premier Darrell Pasloski will also pitch a trade mission of all premiers to the United Kingdom early next year to hammer out a free trade deal with the country still reeling from the Brexit vote.

The premiers met with Indigenous leaders Wednesday where the terms of reference for a national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women were scrutinized. The leaders are largely supportive, if not slightly cautious, of the federal government's roadmap for an inquiry.
