The forced departure of Dimitri Soudas put the spotlight this week on the open nomination battles that are happening across the country.

The former executive director of the Conservative Party was fired after getting involved in the contest involving his common law partner, MP Eve Adams.

That wasn't the only election related news this week.

The resignation of Liberal MP Jim Karygiannis means four byelections now have to be called. It also appears the government may be ready to consider changes to the controversial Fair Elections Act.
