Canada election 2015: Where the leaders are Tuesday
Stephen Harper continues campaigning in Quebec; Tom Mulcair, Justin Trudeau in Ontario; Elizabeth May in B.C.
Both NDP Leader Tom Mulcair and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau venture into Conservative strongholds in Ontario today, where they are expected to trumpet their economic credentials.
Conservative Leader Stephen Harper is also expected to boast about his economic credentials when he visits one of the few areas of Quebec where he already has a toe-hold.
Mulcair will visit Dundas, Kitchener and Sarnia in southwestern Ontario where Conservatives handily captured seats in the 2011 election. He will try to soothe voters' concerns about the tanking global economy and discuss the need to boost investment in manufacturing.
Trudeau will also visit Conservative territory in the vote-rich Toronto suburbs — first in Scarborough and then Brampton.
He will be armed with former prime minister Paul Martin and is expected to discuss how the Liberal team would handle the economic downturn and federal finances.
Stephen Harper will also be talking economics, but he chose relatively fertile ground to spread his message.
The Conservatives lost many of their Quebec seats in 2011, hanging on to only five, mainly just outside Quebec City. Harper is polling well in the city itself, and that's where he will be today in the hopes of eventually boosting his seat count.
Green party Leader Elizabeth May will unveil a housing policy in Burnaby, B.C., and hold an evening town hall in Vancouver.
Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe has events in Rimouski, Havre-Saint-Pierre and Sept-Iles.
