Zellweger, Yu Nan join Berlin jury
Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger will join the jury for the 60th Berlin Film Festival next month.
Working on a seven-member panel chaired by German director Werner Herzog, she will help pick the winner of the top prize, the Golden Bear and second prize, the Silver Bear.
Others announced for the jury on Tuesday include:
- Chinese actress Yu Nan.
- Italian director Francesca Comencini.
- Somali novelist Nuruddin Farah.
- German actress Cornelia Froboess.
- Spanish producer Jose Maria Morales.
Zellweger, 40, won an Academy Award for best supporting actress in 2004 for the Civil War drama Cold Mountain and also starred in the Bridget Jones films.
Yu Nan was the star of Tuya's Marriage, the Golden Bear winner by China's Wang Quan'an who is to open the festival Feb. 11 with his new film Apart Together (Tuan Yuan). She has had a long collaboration with the Chinese director.
Highlights of this year's lineup include fresh releases by Roman Polanski, Martin Scorsese and Michael Winterbottom.
The competition for the Golden Bear ends with an awards ceremony on Feb. 20.
