The Book of Negroes nominated for two Critics' Choice Awards
The mini-series gets nods for best limited series and best actress in a limited series
The critically-acclaimed CBC series The Book of Negroes may soon have more accomplishments to its name.
The historical drama has been nominated for two Critics' Choice Television Awards: one for best limited series and one for best actress in a movie or limited series for lead, Aunjanue Ellis.
The Book of Negroes is up against some big contenders in the best limited series category, including 24: Live Another Day, Olive Kitteridge and The Honorable Woman, which also had its Canadian premiere on CBC Television.
The six-part miniseries, directed by Clement Virgo, premiered on CBC in January and earned top ratings for its time slot.
