Disney has released yet another teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and this one is all about the bad guys.

Disney and Lucasfilm have been very tight-lipped about the newest installment in the sci-fi/fantasy franchise, releasing a series of teaser trailers that reveal only small hints about the film's plot and characters, prompting wild speculation from fans

Until now, the trailers have focused mostly on The Force Awakens' main protagonists, Daisy Ridley's Rey and John Boyega's Finn.

But the latest footage, released Thursday, is all about Kylo Ren, a Darth Vader-like villain with a cross-shaped lightsaber portrayed Adam Driver, best known for his role on HBO's Girls.

The trailer begins with what sounds like the voice of Andy Serkis's Supreme Leader Snoke telling Kylo Ren: "There's been an awakening. Have you felt it?"

Snoke follows with a line that suggests the film's big bad may be bit of a rookie when it comes to the dark side: "Even you have never faced such a test."

Kylo Ren's scenes are underscored by the classic Star Wars Death March theme from John Williams' soundtrack.

Fans can also catch a glimpse in the trailer of heroic duo Rey and Finn, a massive legion of Stormtroopers, and old favourites Han Solo and Chewbacca.

The Force Awakens premiers on Dec. 18 in Canada.
