Rob Ford the Musical: Birth of a Ford Nation to open as planned
It seems the old adage 'the show must go on' is now applicable to a Toronto musical about Mayor Rob Ford.
Rob Ford the Musical: Birth of a Ford Nation will open as scheduled on Thursday Sept. 18 at Toronto's Factory Theatre.
This comes after news that the mayor is withdrawing from the mayoralty race to focus on his health.

Mayor Ford is in hospital with what doctors are describing as an abdominal tumour.
The producers of the show issued a statement through a publicist Friday.
"The producers of the show would prefer not to comment on Mayor Ford’s recent private health issues but at this time, there are no current plans to adapt the show. The producers wish him and his family well during this time."
