Paris video too hot for India

Indian censors have given the Paris Hilton music video Stars are Blind an adult rating, meaning it cannot be broadcast on TV in the country.

Budding recording artist Paris Hilton's catchphrase "That's hot" apparently doesn't go far enough in describing how Indian censors feel about her debut music video.

Instead, the country's Central Board of Film Certification has given the music video for Hilton's debut single Stars are Blind an "adult" certification, meaning it cannot be broadcast on any television channel.

The black-and-white music video to the reggae-inspired song features Hilton frolicking on a beach with a man. North American broadcasters have been airing the video since the end of July.

According to EMI Virgin India, the hotel heiress's local label, the board made its decision because of the video's sexual connotations.

"In fact, we had edited the video and sent a fresh copy, but they weren't happy with that," Narendra Kusnur, the label's international artists and repertoire manager, told Reuters.

Still, Indian fans can still catch a glimpse of Hilton elsewhere.

The Indian marketing campaign for the fledgling pop singer's recording debut has been sponsored by shampoo company Clinic All Clear, which is planning to stream the Stars are Blind video on its website.

Hilton's self-titled debut album was released worldwide Tuesday. The album includes guest appearances by rappers Jadakiss and Fat Joe, and features Hilton's cover of Rod Stewart's Do Ya Think I'm Sexy.
